NekoCon X Preparations

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Well I’m feeling a bit better now that I’m active and doing some work.  At the moment I’m packing and tonight I’ll be heading out with Miko (our site’s co-founder) to Richmond where we’ll be staying (at his apartment… SCANDALSCANDAL) until we leave for Hampton to go to Nekocon!

Pictures will be taken, people will be met, and tons of neko cookies that I made this afternoon will be handed out.  I’m bringing my laptop which means I’ll be able to upload all the pictures from my camera every night and start of fresh the next day, so… there will be LOTS of photos.

Also, I might be vending with Anime Pavilion so be sure to look for me if you’re going!  I’ll be updating frequently so be sure to stick around.

Can’t Stop Crying

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Meg died in my arms today at the vet’s office.  We had to make the choice.  She laid her head on my chest and went peacefully.  I tried reading some manga once I got home to keep my mind off of it, but now that I have nothing left to read I’m just overwhelmed with the fact that she’s gone.

I refused to pay for the injection.  I wanted to be responsible for the portion of the bill that was in the spirit of keeping her alive, not the cost of her death.  I’m going to have to keep thinking about her until I get these bills paid.

I hate capitalism.

New Unintrusive Photo Ads

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Hey guys, I added something new yesterday that tackles a few features I’ve wanted to add for a while.  Now whenever you view photos in our gallery they will appear in a new flash application (that, even with a dial-up connection, takes seconds to load).  By clicking in the bottom left corner of a photo on the menu button that now appears, you can share a photo via email, embed it on your own website, link to the image, zoom in on the image or even print it!  If you mouse over the text in the top of the image an ad will appear that will lead you to our site’s sponsor.  Please support cosplazy by visiting our sponsors!

Catnip does the world wonders

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Lots and lots to update on!  WEWT.  Even IF you can’t see anything on the site, don’t worry… there is a lot to ramble on about.

Cosplazy now has a facebook account!  Nope, not a facebook group, but an actual account.  I hated the lack of features in groups.  We have lots of friends and it’s really busy!  I only hope it’s bringing in some traffic.  Oh, and we’ve started a cause as well.  We’re also running a little contest exclusively on facebook.  Sign in and click here to check it out!

I’ve removed the cumbersome column to the left that had the info about my kitty and replaced it with a banner.  Fyi Meg is getting better, but I still have those ridiculous vet bills to pay.

Oh, and the shop will be up before next week so stay tuned!

Virginia is a Breeding Ground for Disease (Apparently)

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Geez, everyone’s been sick lately. First it was my mom and my brother, then I got what they had. There have been some major staph infection scares in the area around where I live, too. Now my cat has a life-threatening liver problem and my fiance woke up this morning sick.

Well, despite all these things (and the onset of flu season) I went out to Anime night (sponsored by the Liberty High Anime Club of which I was president last year) at the Bealeton Library. I posted photos so be sure to check them out.

Legal Info and Kitty-Cat Woes

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

I went ahead and added the Copyright Info, Privacy Policy and Terms of Service to the site. You can access these pages later by navigating to the bottom of the page and looking to the right below the copyright information.

My cat might need to be put to sleep… we’re going to the vet tomorrow to see what’s up with her. To say in the least, I’m upset. I’ve been crying all day and am really hoping that everything will be alright.

Anyways, I really should be eating something. I’ll hopefully be on later tonight to add some more things.

Blog Fixed; Up-and-coming!

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Now the blog is in sync with the rest of the site design-wise. Next up: posting of a privacy policy, posting of copyright information, services page, completion and stocking of the shop, and artists’ pages (with login for each featured artist).

Brain Detachment

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

I woke up this morning and my brain was NOT communicating properly with my legs… which is just an eloquent way of saying: I was stumbling all over the place like an idiot.

I’ve been sick YET AGAIN, but fortunately I was able to get a considerable amount of stuff done on the site tonight since I’ve been feeling a bit better.

I’ve completely made over the gallery and added some new features by customizing the program a bit. And now instead of it running off of a different stylesheet and header, I made it use the same header that the rest of the site is using… meaning I can update things quicker and with much more ease.

I’ve also been working on some items to put in the shop! The shop isn’t up yet, but once it is I’ll be sure to add the new stuff I made today. Who knows? Maybe I’ll even post a preview pic on here soon.

An Admittedly “Unfinished” Costume

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Wow, if I knew it was THAT easy to cosplay, I would have gotten off my lazy ass a long time ago and just went to a convention wearing my 9 year-old neighbor’s clothes from when I… well, never mind that; what I’m trying to say is: WHAT?

This guy obviously put a lot of thought and effort into his costume…a t-shirt flipped inside-out and upside-down, some basketball shorts and boxers. Clearly he just left an all-male gang bang at the men’s locker room from inside the gym of the Motel 6 down the street. I mean really, how awesome is his “sex hair”? At least he did something right.

“Unfinished”…yeah, I bet.

Simplicity Evolved

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

I’m deathly afraid of driving because of an incident that happened almost 6 years ago, so whenever I need to go into town I usually tag along with my mom. Today was supposed to be a simple optometrist appointment and then we’d go to Borders where I would spend my $55 worth of gift certificated and returned mechandise. Of course, a simple engagement such as this turns into us leaving the house at 2:30PM and returning at 8:30PM.

To say in the least, I was a bit pressed for time tonight, so all I was able to get done were the 404 pages, the about pages, and the contact page. I’m already tired so… adios y buenos noches.
